Construction Account Executive – Midwest U.S.

The Construction Account Executive is responsible for acquiring new customers in the Midwest and Upper Midwest US, reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales.  The role will be based in the Midwest (IL, MO, MI, OH preferred) and will work fully remote (from home office or co-working i.e. WeWork).

We are growing and looking for a talented sales executive to grow with WINT. The Construction Account Executive will be responsible for the acquisition of new accounts specifically focused on new construction opportunities, working directly with general contractors (GC) and commercial developers.  We are looking for a positive, energetic sales professional experienced in building your book of business, with a proven track record in solution and consultative selling in or to the general construction industry.


This role will actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, company provided lead tools (like ConstructConnect) and marketing leads, professional organizations, and social media. You will be assigned new target general contractor accounts and owner/developer accounts in your territory which you will be penetrate and grow through strategic account management.  An understanding of selling bottoms up and top down is critical to success in this role.  You are skilled in hunting and closing new business. And, as the world around us has changed, you must also be skilled at outbound phone and virtual (email, text, social) prospecting, virtual (phone and video) meetings, and closing business 100% virtually.  Travel to accounts and/or large job sites may be needed from time to time, especially for your largest accounts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute sales strategy as set by VP Sales
  • Prospect, qualify and generate new opportunities and business within assigned territory from pool of inbound and self-generated leads (~30% inbound/~70% outbound)
  • Drive entire sales process from end to end (from prospecting to qualifying to negotiating and closing)
  • Customize proposals based on the prospect’s needs; negotiate and handle objections as needed
  • Articulate the company’s product/service and benefits to potential clients through virtual presentations, video calls, and lunch and learns
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and technology departments; participate in feedback sessions with R&D and articulate market feedback to leadership
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales targets according to sales plan

Preferred Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in B2B in the Construction industry or related field; experience working directly with General Contractors, MEPs, or commercial developers
  • Proven track record of over-achieving sales goals
  • Ability to understand new products and technology with the ability to articulate value
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills exhibited with internal and external clients
  • Motivated, driven and results oriented
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM (Salesforce) a must
